NEWS ON COVID VACCINATION LIFTS
Some of the schemes in our Network currently have volunteers that are able to offer lifts to help residents within their community to attend their Covid vaccinations, where residents do not have their own transport, or where friends or family are unable to offer this support.
The schemes and their volunteers are trying to help as many of their local residents as possible, but many schemes have less volunteers available than usual due to the ongoing pandemic, so please bear with them, they will help if they can. The vast majority of schemes are only able to offer their support to residents within their village/parish boundary or community’s postcode area.
- Schemes that are offering lifts are annotated below
- Contact your community’s scheme directly via their phone number in the table below to check transport availability and book (if possible)
- Your scheme may ask you to contribute mileage of up to 45p per mile of your journey to help cover their volunteer’s fuel costs
Suffolk County Council’s Connecting Communities network is also offering transport solutions to help people attend their vaccination appointments, you can find out more about this by visiting https://communities.suffolkonboard.com/
There is guidance available to individuals who are accepting lifts from friends and neighbours on how to do this safely. Please see links below:
